Possible Fortune Lake Fundraising

We have a fund raising opportunity. One of our members suggested that we could contact the Houghton County Fair Board about doing clean up at the far. I guess it is awarded to one group for the fair. I have not pursued it as yet, Jen and I will be busy with Certification at that time so we are out as coordinators. If someone would be interested in picking it up I will get them the info on it.

Calander

Here is a link to a Calander that I set Up.

I'm not sure if I did it right. Please try it. Right now, everyone should be able to see it. Jon or Larry should be able to edit it. If it works, we should decide if this is what we want and who needs access.

Fwd: HTLC Website

Here is some infos on a calander. I haven't tried it yet.

Hi Larry,
Anika is doing well, thanks for asking!
You've got some excellent questions. Google has an awesome calendaring feature. We use it at work and that is where everyone's schedule is located. You can keep the calendar private (only viewable by those you authorize), or you can publish it so that all church members can view.
Go to: http://calendar.google.com
To create an actual "mailing list" where people can make general announcements and share communication you would need access to a mailing list server. It appears as though there are some free sites that allow you to create mailing lists. If you would like assistance setting one up, let me know.
As for setting up a webpage, it really depends on how elaborate you want it to be. You can download free templates off of the internet and publish them with very little HTML programming experience.
If you'd like to sit down and discuss any of these in more detail, give me a holler!

Doug;
How is the baby?
We are looking for ideas to improve communication throughout the church.
What are some web based options that we could use to help out? Some ideas
that we were thinking would help are:
A master calender with meetings, events, building use, acolyte schedules,
etc. How do you add to it?
A youth suggestion box. Can you post anonymous comments?
A place to post meeting notes. Can people add notes, comments questions?
e-mail lists, chat groups for different groups
e-mail for newsletters and anouncements. Give people the option of mail,
e-mail or both.
How much work and technical know how does it take to keep a web page up to
date?
I'm not very up to date on this sort of stuff. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks
Larry

Editing Team

I can add people as editors to put posts up on the blog. I think you need a google or blogger account to do it. That way if someone has something to say in regards to an event or suggestion they can get it up right away without trying to find me :)
